Reflecting on what I've learned so far, I've realized that language isn't just about talking or writing; it's how we learn and understand the world around us. It's like the key that unlocks knowledge. Understanding this has made me more aware of how crucial it is to support students in developing their language skills.

Including culture in my curriculum has become a no-brainer. I mean, our backgrounds and experiences shape who we are and how we see things. By bringing diverse cultural perspectives into the mix, I can make learning more relevant and engaging for my students.

Being culturally sensitive is a big deal. It's about recognizing and respecting that everyone comes from different backgrounds. By acknowledging and honoring these differences, I can create a classroom where everyone feels valued and respected.

The link between a student's home language and their academic progress is huge. I've seen how embracing students' home languages can actually boost their learning. It's not just about language; it's about preserving their culture and helping them succeed.

Linguistic routines are like the building blocks of language development. By keeping things consistent and providing plenty of opportunities for students to talk and listen, I can help them become better communicators in all areas of their learning.

Learning a second language opens up so many doors. It's not just about speaking another language; it's about gaining new perspectives and skills that can benefit students in all subjects.

Early literacy experiences are super important. They lay the foundation for everything else. By giving students plenty of opportunities to read, write, and explore language from an early age, I can set them up for success later on.

Structured speaking and listening activities are key to helping students become better communicators. By giving them chances to practice expressing themselves and listening to others, I can help them build essential skills that they'll use for the rest of their lives.
