This student is in the beginning stages of writing. To help move this student to the intermediate level, they should be given scaffolded lessons and lower level activities to help bridge the gap. Giving them smaller writing tasks and graphic organizers is a good way to help the student grow in their writing. A suggestion could be to have a stronger writer in the class partner up with them and help them with the lesson, and another could be to have the student do small writing activities daily to build their skills.
