This student is in the beginning level of writing development. A teacher can move this student into the intermediate phase by modeling quality writing, including writing assignments that will excite the student, encouraging the student and allowing other students to support them and having students write on their own after modeling. Teachers should provide feedback to the student and there should be a consistent routine of when the student practices writing.
