I would recommend the following content area approaches to for my colleagues when it comes to math, science, history, physical education, & fine arts.

Math: Connect it to real world situations. For ex. a teacher's math class used their math skills to design wheelchair ramps, skate ramps, & sloped roofs for bus shelters.

Science: Use the same type of language each time when referring to vocabulary words, for ex. announce "Here are some key words".

History: Teachers should highlight their disciplines' unique features. For ex. period rhetoric and referents such as the Constitution.

Physical Education: Teachers can provide pre-reading handout with key words & dates that are extracted from the textbook to teach students the origins of volleyball, basketball, & soccer.

Fine arts: K-W-L chart informally assess what background knowledge students have on a particular topic. This could used when introducing various paintings.

The content areas I would feel comfortable using are: making connections, highlighting, & using the K-W-L chart. I would comfortably teach to my colleagues making connections (text-to-text, text-to-world, & text-to-self).
