Mod 2 Discussion: What the Research Means to Me

What this means to me is that students should not just be permitted to spend more time with their "first language" content classes, but openly encouraged to take the time they need. Trying to rush students out of the ELL classification could lead to many issues with a student leaving early or feeling disappointed when they feel they are not making progress fast enough. There should be less of a focus on getting students out of the ELL classification, but actually encouraging students to take English-language content which allows them to interact with English speaking students and teachers properly trained.
