Awareness of culture is crucial in an FBA plan because it allows educators to understand the cultural context in which the student's behavior occurs and to develop interventions that are respectful, responsive, and effective. By integrating cross-cultural awareness into the FBA process, educators can more fully engage the student in positive behaviors that will support their social-emotional well-being and academic success. Additionally, culturally responsive practices promote equity, inclusion, and cultural competence in educational settings, benefiting all students regardless of their cultural background.
