Mod 1 Discussion: Classroom Implications of Linguistic Theory

Students learning a second language in the classroom are usually very nervous about participating in discussions for fear of saying things incorrectly.  If a teacher was to correct the student regarding grammar errors, that could potentially cause the student to be even less willing to participate.  As the saying goes, “practice makes perfect”, but this will not work if the student is too afraid of practicing in the first place for fear of being wrong.
