Mod 13 Discussion: Aligning Curriculum

I feel that regularly assessing whether students are mastering the content and skills in the lesson or unit is the most important criteria for my own curriculum goals. This is because my curriculum builds on itself and students must understand the current unit before moving onto the next. Additionally, my course has multiple levels that students can take throughout their time in middle school, so students have the opportunity to take several courses over their time in middle school. Students must understand the content from the previous course before moving on to the next level, which is why assessing mastery is so important.
