Mod 9 Discussion: Oral Language Support in My Classroom

In my classroom, there are a few key principles for academic discussion I would like to focus on. The first is Focus Questions. By asking these questions prior to lessons or including them in my assignments, students will better understand the overall question they are trying to answer by learning the lesson or completing the assignment. Another key principle for academic discussion I could focus on in my classroom is framing questions so that all students can understand. Because I teach students of varying abilities, it is important that all students understand the questions being asked of them. I can do this by including multiple versions of the same question, rephrased in different ways.
