Module 8 Discussion: Early Literacy and My ELLs

For ELLs, the strategies i would use are:

picture walks: doing these gives the students an advanced knowledge of the contents of the story. It builds interest and gives the children the confidence to read it to completion. 

DRTA - Directed Reading-Thinking Activity: this would work with ELLs because, by breaking the book/article into chunks, children will not feel so overwhelmed reading the passages.
