Mod 15 Video Discussion

In both videos, the teacher facilitated learning using various modes of discussion strategies to assist in guiding the conversation. When setting up groups, it’s best to set the tone in the beginning of the school year of how work well together with peers. When teachers set protocols of group discussions, students will be more inclined to work with anyone in the classroom.

As the leader of my classroom, engaging students in meaningful academic discussion allows for students to learn how to get important information and make sense of the world around them. Speaking and expression is one of the most effective ways of communicating, and it’s important to have these student-to-student interactions. We are role models to students and they expect us to explain the “how” of expressing their opinions.
