Mod 5 Discussion: Formal and Informal Assessments

I have used 'anticipation guides' when introducing a new novel or large topic study in the past. As a means to check for general interest and knowledge around larger subjects, often times deep thinking ones where talking about it is needed to give context. Additionally I want to actually make gallery walks work! I love the idea of the kids moving more but off task time can be better managed with a good topic.
