Mod 13 Discussion: SIOP discussion

The SIOP model introduces student and teacher to the various techniques of intergrating content and language aspects to ESOL students.  It's cross-cultural content is displayed through the SIOP lesson module.  There are 8 aspects of the lesson model; Preparation, Building Background, Comprehensible Input, Strategies, Practice Application, Lesson Delivery, Review and Assessment; which helps each student no matter what cultural background.  It assists the teacher to cover more content and language areas within a specific lesson and helps the student to gather more information and relate to other aspects of learning as they go through the lesson.
