Story:  King Midas

Topic: ELA.2.RI.1.4- Describe how ideas and events in a text are connected and how they help me understand the main idea and key details of a story.

Preproduction:  Can you draw a picture about something that happened in the story?

Early production:  Can you tell about something important in the story that helps you understand what the story is about?

Speech emergence:  In your own words, can you tell what the story is about?

Intermediate fluency:  Determine and write 2-3 events that helped you understand what the story was about? 

Advanced fluency-  What happened to King Midas in the story and was it a wise thing that he wanted?  Why?/ Why not?
