Mod 10 Video Discussion

The teacher provided instruction and practice reading words with "ow".  She expained the sounds of the letters and then gave samples of words with "ow" for the students to practice using the correct sound.  She provided examples that "made sense" and ones that didn't.  I could use a similar approach, but I would be sure that the students were familiar with the meanings of the words in oral language before trying them out in print.  A student learning English may not know that a word "does not make sense" if it is not a word that is in their speaking and listening vocabulary.
