Correcting student errors during second language acquisition has been found not to be successful.  Positive interactions with peers who speak the native language will serve as examples of correct grammar and usage.  Over time students will begin to attend to their peer's language use.  Also, providing students with a safe environment for making mistakes encourages students to monitor their mistakes, not only with language usage, but with other academic tasks as well.  Positive reinforcement for correct language usage will also increase student self-monitoring of their language use.
