Mod 8 Discussion: Tiering and Scaffolding in My Classroom

Test or "tapping in" on students' prior knowledge is something I have found to be useful in teaching kindergarteners. One of the activities I would adapt to my class is the LEAD: List, Experience Activity, Discuss. I would use real life pictures that express the vocabulary words and pictures from the text. This helps to give insight before the text is read. Asking questions about text to self, text-to-text, and text-to-world questions. I would also ask the students to use the pictures to create a sentence with the vocabulary words.
