Module 8 Discussion: Early Literacy and My ELLs

Systematic Vocab Instruction to make associations, Read Alouds with targeted vocab., jigsaw (mixed groups), choices to match interest, visible prompts, shared reading, songs, rhymes, letter identification, picture walks, KWL, DRTA, and LEA. While I think many of these strategies are appropriate for numerous students, almost all are appropriate for struggling readers (not just ELL). I think the Language Experience Approach could easily be used in the classroom for early literacy. It can be differentiated for all levels.
