The student who has been in school will probably adjust to their new setting a little easier. They should be able to adjust to the classroom setting and be able to take in the content being taught. This could be helped along by front loading vocabulary before lessons. The student who has been uprooted due to a Civil war may take a little more time adjusting. They will have lived through some trauma and need to feel safe in the classroom. They may also not know how to socialize within a classroom environment. I think assigning them a partner to help them get the basics would be a good place to start.
