Module 18 Video/Resource Discussion

I have used Frayer models in my classroom before, but haven’t ever used them on a regular basis.  After watching the video, I can see how using them regularly would be a benefit to the students in gaining and truly understanding new vocabulary.  Also, in the second video, the teacher was unpacking the learning standards by using and providing academic vocabulary to the students.  I do this in my classroom and it does really help.  I find that when I take the time to teach the vocabulary, the students often gain a more true understanding of the word and are able to use it instead of other words.
