Module 4 Discussion: Home Language Survey

The most important question is what is the primary language spoken at home. I would also want to know if that language is used exclusively or is English also used? Does the student have access to reading material? If so, in what languages? Also, does anyone in the house speak English? Finally, what would be the preferred method of communicating with the family (phone, email, video conferencing)? Would the parent be comfortable with my using translation software to communicate messages about the student's progress?
