Preloading vocabulary- I use this in my own classroom. One way that I do this is with the use of word squares. On the word square, the student writes the word and the part of speech. In another box, they write the definition. In another box they draw what it looks like, and lastly they make a connection to the word. They can write about their connection or they can draw it.
