Language Acquisition in Content Areas
This module mention many practices I've used for instructional and content understanding. The most reinforcing point I got was using multiple sensory keys for words. Having the class plan and key points written on the board pointed to when discussing, and saying aloud is helpful. Pausing during readings to discuss, act out, illustrate, and question students' understanding helps. Having students read aloud, write, and demonstrate deepens understanding. Remediating lessons from content comprehension to morphological awareness is essential when students are struggling.
