Module 19 Video/Resource Response

What I found important from the video is how crucial it is for the student to see their culture present in their education.  When there is literature, visuals, lesson content about their culture included, it gives the students a sense of acceptance and belonging.  These are often subliminal messages but they are important to the students not from the mainstream culture.  This video inspired me to research more about Puerto Rico and include some more resources in my classroom to make my ELL student feel a sense of belonging.  I need to keep this idea at the forefront of my mind for when I get new students in my classroom.
