Depending on the level of language acquisition of the household, all communication may need to be translated into the native language. I also need to make sure that the student has ample opportunity to express their own culture and gear the content towards them as much as everyone else. I would also pull the student aside to let them know that I am there for their advancement and to not be afraid to ask questions or reach out if they need anything. Maybe even set up a system for them to ask questions when they may be confused, but do not want to be embarassed.
