Module 12 Discussion: SIOP

SIOP stands for Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol and is a model that is researched based that guides the teacher in helping the ELL grow through the learning process. This model has eight basic components beginning with lesson prep and background knowledge building and moving forward through each step to assessment. This model helps all students acquire linguistics and the teacher to stay on task.
