Students could share their weekly vocabulary cards with the parent in order to expose the parent to the English language and give the student continued practice at home. The student could take the knowledge they have learned at school and teach to the parent. Students should read to their parents on a daily basis and answer questions before, during, and after the story. Bilingual books and picture books are also great to use when non English speaking parents are working with their children.
