It was very fascinating that Procedural Memory has endless storage.  Having predictable procedural learning activities and choice and goal setting helps increase my student’s confidence and helps lower stress.  A lot of my students come from trauma and I have witnessed my set procedures help them feel safe and in control of their learning. I give them a weekly checklist with specific learning targets that are to be completed by the end of the week. This gives them a sense of ownership and goal setting. They know they are growing their brain and will get to the treasure box once everything is ompleted.

I like to test in our classroom environment. I have noticed decreased stress levels and higher performance when testing in my classroom rather than the computer lab. I also utilize graphic organizers, flexible seating for change or setting,  hands on learning, and calming background music. I believe all of these ideas/strategies increases my student’s intelligence and facilitate an excellent learning environment.
