Module 2 Discussion: Theories of Language Learning
Brain-Based
The Brain-Based Theory makes the most sense to me. I agree that learning a new language is a complex process with multiple cognitive functions.
This theory fits within my own pedagogy because I provide comprehensible input that engages my students‘ interest. I do a lot of Project Based Learning (PBL) that incorporates students interest and higher level literature and vocabulary. Students can then apply their findings to a real world problem making learning meaning. The projects are picked based on class interest.
