Module 8 Discussion: Early Literacy and My ELLs

In my classroom I use the following:

• I use groupings and special seating arrangements (keeping my ESOL students close to me)
• Use of technology for me to translate from my speaking to student speaking
• Translation of worksheets in both English and student's language
• Usage of student cell phone to translate items on my SmartBoard or work I hand out
• Allow students to use translators during assignments
• Connecting with parents by using Google Translate (not perfect, but usually gets the message across!)
