Scenario 2:

You have an entering ELL student who has received instruction at a previous school and is at the intermediate level. You realize however, that despite the student's emerging fluency, he seems to be struggling to understand and respond to basic ideas. When he reads, he often seems distant and removed, despite that he reads and decodes at almost grade-level proficiency.

Name one or two intervention approaches from this module that you feel would help this student. Explain how you will implement the approach, and why you feel it is best matched to what this learner needs.
