Mod 5 Discussion: Formal and Informal Assessments

I have had much success with Turn and Talk.  This allowed my students to explain their thinking and learn from each other. What was successful is that it allowed me immediate feedback about my students understanding and misconceptions of the topic we were discussing.

One formative assessment that I'd like to use is the Rubric.  The Rubric would be beneficial because it provides a fair, consistent, and objective way to evaluate student artwork. Since art can be subjective, a rubric helps students understand exactly what is expected and how their work will be graded.
