The student is currently at the beginning stage of writing development. To support their growth, I will implement a consistent writing routine and provide individualized, responsive writing instruction. This will include mini-lessons that address one skill at a time (writing skills, composition strategies, vocabulary, writing genres, etc.) and set specific goals and expectations.

I will have the student will begin by working within a specific writing genre. I will conduct regular check-ins to monitor their progress through the stages of the writing process (planning, drafting, revising) and determine whether additional clarification or support is needed. Establishing a writing routine will help the student build confidence and develop comfort in writing. In addition, I will also pair the student with a peer for coaching and review. This will provide opportunities for constructive feedback and collaborative learning to further reinforce the student’s writing development.
