For my data action plan, I chose “selecting strategies/corrective plan”.  Reviewing data for state district end of course (DEOC) exams and certification exams are 2 data that will be gathered and reviewed. Analysis of passing scores as compared to state and national standards will be studied. Also, learning gaps will be identified from the results gathered. If students scored below the state and national standards, what could be the cause or the learning gaps. Questions to consider for student learning gaps are: Do students have sufficient time to practice skills and apply those skills during clinicals? Are students able to connect the concepts learned into practice? On the teacher side, instructional gaps could be modifying teaching strategies used when teaching to make it more engaging to students and not just passive instruction. The importance and relevance of my action research process will significantly guide me as I evaluate the effectiveness of my teaching instruction and the student knowledge acquisition.
