For Section 1, my plan included mostly trying to coordinate the objectives, standards, and assessments in order to ensure their compatibility. I wanted to make sure that both cognitive and linguistic goals were met through this lesson and help the ELL and struggling learners progress further.

First, one of my main concerns was setting achievable but sufficiently difficult objectives according to students' current proficiency level. Another thing I had to consider was the choice of vocabulary support and fluency exercises, since these elements play an important role in enhancing comprehension and student involvement in class discussions.

The most challenging aspect of the whole process was ensuring that grade level expectations would not be reduced to meet the demands of differentiation. Additionally, it took time to decide on appropriate assessment measures that would reveal the gaps in knowledge while providing opportunities for growth.

Generally speaking, I managed to produce a well-thought-out and coherent lesson where emphasis is put on developing the targeted skills (e.g., vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, and academic discussions).
