Mod 13 Discussion: Aligning Curriculum

The ELA criterion that stands out most to me is Criterion I because it sets the foundation for everything in a K–2 IND classroom. It’s important that my instruction aligns with state standards while still being accessible for all learners. Before starting a lesson, I make sure students understand the purpose of what we are learning using visuals, modeling, and clear language. I also carefully choose texts that students can relate to and that do not create bias, so every student has the opportunity to engage and be successful.
