Formative assessments that I’ve used in the past that have been successful include things like exit tickets and checkpoints throughout my lessons. I have found more success with the exit tickets because they’re quick and easy and they’re a good checkpoint to see what the kids learn learned from the lesson to know what I need to re-teach for the next day or go over again before we start the next day’s lesson. I would like to explore doing things like checkpoints during my lessons more often, but it’s not as easy in a 50-minute period.
