I think it comes naturally to want to correct someone, especially as an educator, in the correct ways to say or pronounce things. With some students I have they tend to try and read fast to be done with reading so I always tell them to slow down to eliminate some grammatical mistakes. Then if there is a word they are still struggling on I tell them to just sound it out. In most cases they figure it out fairly easily, I also demonstrate word pronunciation while giving them vocabulary, which has been beneficial while teaching Civics. I think allowing them to figure out how to say things on their own also gives them a sense of confidence in themselves that they can do it and are capable of overcoming any obstacles.

I think for Second Language speakers it is more difficult so having a picture next to a word to connect similar ideas between languages would be beneficial. Not everything translates, or has an easy picture to connect to, but being able to visually see what is being referred to would be helpful. This goes to helping all learners in general because not everyone learns the same way.
