Mod 9 Discussion: Oral Language Support in My Classroom

The two concepts that stood out for me to improve on in my lessons in science were Sharing News, and Group Research. 

In science there is always something new in the news. Having students follow a structured assignment that has them find new news in science and share it in written, oral, or visual presentations with written captions will help with owning the concept.

Group Research has been successful in the past in my classes. Giving student groups different topics related to the unit, and then having them research them and present them. Additionally, the research can be scaffolded in levels that gets the students to think beyond and problem solve with the research information they have found.
