Self-Assessment

This course has been wonderful so far. I feel like there are actually things being taught (the characteristics of different levels of language learning and writing, actual techniques and strategies). Having taught for two years all ready, there was part of me that thought this curriculum might end up being "fluffy" or redundant, but I find that a lot of the topics covered that I am familiar with end up getting expanded into meaningful ways. I've discusses several things in the modules I want to start implementing immediately for this new school year, and I find that most of the things can be applied for all students. I really feel like I have new tools in my belt to "lock in" as the kids would say. One thing I can't keep out of my head though, I really really REALLY need to spend more on small group work with my ELLs.
