I've learned that using sentence starters and other resources is crucial for guiding meaningful discussions in the classroom. These tools aren't just beneficial for my English Language Learners; they support all students in developing their academic language.

For instance, getting students to engage in deep math conversations can be tough. However, providing academic language resources like simple statements such as, "I agree because..." or "I see a connection..." can truly facilitate richer discussions and lead to deeper learning for everyone.
