Discussion: Final Reflection

The Literacy Methods for Supporting ELLs course provided valuable and enlightening new perspectives. The information I received from this course provides me with immediate-use teaching strategies for helping my English-learning students. I found it valuable to learn various scaffolding techniques that make lesson content accessible to students of any proficiency level. The course reinforced my understanding of the need for cultural responsiveness and dual emphasis on language and content skills which I aim to develop further. These new strategies fill me with confidence and motivation because they hold significant potential to improve my students' academic and linguistic development. I appreciate all the shared resources and ideas and I look forward to learning more as I build on what I've gained.
