Mod 15 Video Discussion

The videos highlighted the importance of structured approaches for group work and discussions. The use of the jigsaw protocol in Erin Daly’s class to examine a story about human rights demonstrated how structured communication among students can enhance their comprehension levels. I need to improve how I create safe environments where students can freely share their thoughts in my work. Structured approaches such as protocols along with guided questions enable students to participate in discussions with increased confidence, respect, and engagement. I plan to integrate more structured discussion formats into my teaching because they promote critical thinking among students while enabling them to learn collaboratively and feel valued for their contributions. Implementing a simple change will significantly improve student learning experiences and strengthen classroom community bonds.
