The student continues to work on developing their writing skills at the initial stage of learning. Although students can generate ideas they struggle with organizing those ideas and selecting appropriate words while maintaining proper tense usage and comprehending various writing styles.

Begin their improvement journey with basic sentence-focused exercises including sentence combining and error correction and tense practice. Story maps and charts provide students with effective tools for organizing their ideas into logical plans. Students will benefit from vocabulary development through exercises and word bank activities. Students will enhance their grasp of distinct writing styles through the practice of sharing example texts alongside clear genre explanations. Consistent positive feedback strengthens their self-assurance. By slowly adding tougher writing assignments over time students will advance to higher levels of writing ability.
