Module 7 Dicussion
I like section 2a, identify learning gaps. In civics this is particularly helpful because there are many different things student must learn within a standard. For example, data may prove that the students understand that the legislative branch makes laws and has other powers, but they may not understand the steps of how a bill becomes a law. The data is telling me that they are nearing mastery, but this part of the lesson is not learned fully. When I review this standard, I can really take a deep dive into the bill-to-law part and not spend too much time on what my students already know.
