In the video, the co-teaching model stood out as a powerful way to support all learners, especially ELL students. The teachers clearly planned together, shared responsibilities, and were equally engaged during instruction—which helped meet both content and language objectives. I appreciated how the ESOL teacher embedded language support like sentence frames and visuals, while the content teacher focused on curriculum. It reminded me how valuable it is to share planning time and build lessons that blend both our strengths. In my own classroom, I could see myself using more side-by-side teaching or station teaching, especially when working with students who are developing their English skills. Moving forward, I want to be more intentional about planning with our ELL support staff, making sure we’re not just supporting ELLs during intervention time, but throughout regular instruction too. This approach just reinforces how strong collaboration leads to better support for all students.
