Mod 3 Discussion: Moving Students Into a New Culture

Once I experienced a culture shock when traveling to a foreign country. I was not aware of their customs and restaurant etiquette. Tipping was not the norm in this country. I made sure I looked up the customs and norms while in my hotel because, I felt embarrassed about the situation. Going forward, I will educate myself and not feel ashamed when I am corrected.

In my classroom, I will educate myself as much as possible on students from different backgrounds and culture. I will have a classroom that celebrates and accepts all backgrounds.
