Mod 9 Discussion: Oral Language Support in My Classroom

Some principles for academic discussion that I focus on are often sentence starters and partner discussions. In science it often takes collaborative work in the real world and amongst peers to figure things out. I think these approaches also often help best with class engagement. I use sentence starters  as checks for understanding on information that I have given to the class repeatedly. These helps me gauge if students are following along with me or if they have not been engaged in the learning.
