Scenario Response 4- C. Bailey
Based on the information proved in the scenario, this ELL student is in the beginner stage of learning to write. While some ELL students may come with some knowledge about writing most may not and may struggles to express their thoughts in their new language that they are still in the process or learning to speal, read and write.
- Modeling and scaffolding instruction- this could involve using pictures with the words written in English and their native language to help them make connections.
- peer writer- this helps them to work with someone thei age that they can relate to. I have paired my scholars with peers who may speak their native language but that will encourage them to learn to speak the English language as well.
- student/teacher conferences- This would be used to discuss the progress of the scholar and to talk about the goals that have been set and reached as well as setting new goals and discussing how to recalibrate so that they can reach the goals that they haven't reached yet.
