Story: My Name is Celia by Monica Brown

Assignment: Retell the story by describing events that happened in the beginning, middle, and end of the story.

Preproduction: Students would be given 3 pictures of events that happened in the story and ask to point to what happened first.  Then they would be asked to point to what happened next.  Then they would be asked to point to what happened last.

Early Production: Students would be given 3 pictures of events that happened in the story and asked to put them in order of what happened first, next, and last.

Speech Emergence: Students would be given 3 pictues of events that happend in the story and asked to put them in order of what happened first, next, and last.  Then, they would be asked to verbally explain what is happening in each picture.

Intermediate Fluency: Students would be given 3 pictures of events that happened in the story and asked to put them in order of what happend first, next, and last.  Then, they would be asked to write a few words about what is happening in each pictures.

Advanced Fluency: Students would be asked to draw 3 pictures: one showing an event from the beginning of the story, one showing an event from the middle of the story, and one showing an event from the end of the story.  Then, they would be asked to write a sentence about what is happening each illustration.
